Sandra Day O'Connor Calls It Quits

Justice Sandra Day O'Connor stepped down today. She marked many close decisions with her swing voting. Many, already against the countermajoritarian nature of the Supreme Court, have argued that because the court is so divided, O'Connor has effectively ruled as the final decision maker thus making the Court of nine into a court of one. Of course, the Blogosphere is GA-GA over this!
