Gas headed back up near 3 Bucks?
By way of Michelle Malkin:
"House leaders late Wednesday abandoned an attempt to push through a hotly contested plan to open an Alaskan wildlife refuge to oil drilling, fearing it would jeopardize approval of a sweeping budget bill Thursday.
They also dropped from the budget document plans to allow states to authorize oil and gas drilling off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts — regions currently under a drilling moratorium.

To say the least! Gas yesterday was just $2.44 at service stations in my neighborhood. Last year at this time we would have thought that to be a rather high price, but after the summer's $3+ prices, we embrace $2.44 as if it were a lost kitten.
Funny but true: "...in politics, as in lots of other matters of life, it's all about timing and it's all relative. A price of $2.57 a gallon provokes outrage when it's happening on the way up. A price of $2.56 prompts a shrug when prices are on the way down..." (Continued from SeattlePI)
