George Bush

This perplexes me to no end. President Bush’s Speech on Immigration (VIDEO)... So much time has passed since 9/11 and the borders still are not secure! What follows is another reason why Hillary Clinton will be greeted by open doors should she choose to pursue the US Presidency...

As President Bush addressed the nation, Michelle Malkin was marking time:

04:48pm. Bush pays lip service to ending "catch and release," which I've been reporting on the last three years. He mentions expedited removal--for non-Mexicans only.

04:57pm. Surprise, surprise! Bush pays lip service to employer sanctions and interior enforcement. Finally mentions problem of MS-13 illegal alien gang violence. Pays lip service to document fraud, without mentioning his administration's own reticence over matricula consular cards for illegal aliens from Mexico and other countries.

05:01pm. Here we go. Temporary worker platitudes. They do the jobs "Americans will not do." Tepid, tepid applause.

From the blog "A Certain Slant of Light," --- "What is plain, moreover, is that despite the president's words today that "together with Congress, we're going to ... reject amnesty," he still has amnesty on the brain. It's just coming under the guise of a Guest Worker Program that at its foundation will make the case that there's no practical way of deporting the millions of illegals that the president's purposeful indifference to border security has allowed into our land illegally."
