Coup Watch PI

Longtime US-ally and friend, The Philippines, is focused on rescue efforts for some 1,400 people buried under a massive landslide on the central island of Leyte. Meantime, fugitive military officer Lawrence San Juan, who escaped last month while on trial for a 2003 mutiny, says his group "will take action" before the end of the month. I think this is one we should keep a close eye on: we could see history in the making!

San Juan is smack dab in the middle of a golden opportunity. Everyone is concentrating on the Leyte tragedy, and the wily military man has already been testing the waters... more on that from FilAmerican blogger Michelle Malkin who writes about "...reports of a bomb blast at the presidential palace of Philippine president Gloria Maccapal-Arroyo..."
