Down in DC
FOX Talk-show host Tony Snow has been selected as Press Secretary for the White House. Does this mean we'll really get snowed? Author David Henderson ("Making News: A Straight-Shooting Guide to Media Relations") thinks not: "While I don’t personally know Snow, here’s what I suspect he will bring immediately to the job: the ability to listen to the president and effectively interpret his positions, thoughts and goals for the White House press corps. Snow unquestionably knows the difference between parroting political spin and a credible story that the news media will buy. That’s a professional quality that has been missing at this White House and sorely needed over the last six years." (more Henderson Here) Michelle Malkin agrees with Henderson: "He's exactly what the White House needs." But Malkin barks up the other side of Bush's tree: "The bipartisan amnesty disaster is coming...read their lips: No new amnesty. Uh-huh."
Peak Oil or Peak Stupidity?
As gas prices move higher, Republican politicians are sweating. How about George Bush's "proclamation" about gasoline? Says he'll halt "deposits" to the National Strategic Oil Reserve along with a few other "key" points, but as my friendly morning news announcer says "...it will take months before there's any difference in the price at the pump..." so what GOOD is it?
