Marine Hadji Girl Video

UPDATE 0919 Wednesday: I moved this out of comments- "As a young Asian woman, I know all too well how little regard American men have for women. I am disgusted when I hear black rappers calling out to the "pussy" and "ho." I am deeply offended by "Me So Horny" which to this day is played on the radio. I think most Americans are laughing at the Hadji Girl video." - comment by chinaChic44

CC44 might be right: Take a look at a few comments to Michelle Malkin's post regarding the Hadji Girl Video:

Cpl. American Idol, USMC
Excerpt: They're saying this Marine is going to get in trouble. What are they gonna do? Send him to Iraq? "Hadji Girl" is going to be the hugest military hit of the 21st century!

Hadji Girl
Excerpt: These guys are doing a great job. They are, as Jack Murtha is prone to say, under tremendous pressure.

“Hadji girl”
Excerpt: Apparently this is supposed to be the smear our troops flap of the hour. I just watched the video in question and it's funny as hell; I hope the guy gets a record contract out of it.

The video "hadji girl," purports to be a "marine in iraq (sic) singing a song about hadji." (A "Hajji" is a person who has made the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, but the term has often been used as a pejorative by U.S. troops in Iraq.) The song tells of a U.S. Marine's encounter with an Iraqi woman. It was viewed by almost 50,000 netsurfers before it was removed from the youtube.com Web site

The song's lyrics include: "I grabbed her little sister and put her in front of me. As the bullets began to fly, the blood sprayed from between her eyes, and then I laughed maniacally ... I blew those little f--kers to eternity ... They should have known they were f--king with the Marines." Members of the audience, not shown in the video, laughed and cheered wildly for these lyrics.

WaTcH the ViDeO HeRe! We sure do love the "Iraqi people," don't we, George?

Creation of the video is claimed by Joshua Belile, 23 years old, of Jax, NORTH CAROLINA, who says he wrote and performed "Hadji Girl" many times while aboard Al Asad Airbase in Iraq. Here is Joshua's MySpace site, along with his band's sites HERE and HeRe

Lt. Col. Scott Fazekas, a spokesman for the Marines, said Tuesday that the Marines were aware of a video posted on the Internet that "purports to show a Marine singing an insensitive song about Iraqis." Fazekas said officials don't know the identity of the singer or whether he is in the military.

Critics once hailed the movie "Jarhead" as an accurate portrayal of young marines. I watched the movie the night before last, and if that is the case, I cannot believe the following statement: The song was "inappropriate and contrary to the high standards expected of all Marines," Fazekas said. He said Marine officers are looking into the matter.
